Despite 15 points from
Elise Ellison-Coons, the Keiser women's basketball team fell, 85-58, in Sun Conference action Saturday evening at No. 2 Southeastern.

After the Seahawks drew within four, 25-21, with 6:25 remaining in the second quarter, the Fire responded with a 13-2 run to put the game out of reach.

Keiser 13, Southeastern 18
- Angela Denis gave the Seahawks the early lead with the first basket of the game off an assist from Chiara De Virgilio at the 9:19 mark.
- Southeastern took their first lead, 4-2, with 8:51 remaining in the period.
- Following a 2:46 scoring drought by both sides, the Fire stretched their run to an 8-0 stretch before back-to-back three-pointers from Kaitlyn Fertig leveled the score, 8-8, with 3:31 showing on the clock.
- Southeastern netted the next six points to reclaim the lead, 14-8, at the 2:30 mark.
- Fertig's third three of the quarter drew the Seahawks within three, 14-11, before the Fire netted four of the final six points to take an 18-13 advantage into the second.
Keiser 27, Southeastern 42
- After a back-and-forth start to open the second, Ellison-Coons drew the Seahawks within four, 25-21, with an and-one at the 6:25 mark.
- The Fire responded with a 13-2 run to increase their lead to 15, 38-23, with 2:56 left in the half.
- A jumper by Julia Fitzwater stopped the bleeding momentarily before back-to-back baskets by the Fire gave SEU their largest lead of the half, 42-25, with 1:13 remaining
- Ellison-Coons closed out the half with a pair of free throws as KU trailed 42-27 at the break.
Keiser 39, Southeastern 53
- The two sides traded the first eight points of the third before an 8-2 run by the Seahawks cut the Fire lead to nine, 48-39, at the 2:16 mark.
- Back-to-back threes by Elliana Schaefer and Andressa Nascimento fueled the KU run.
- Southeastern closed the quarter with five straight points to take a 53-39 lead into the fourth.
Keiser 58, Southeastern 85
- After the two squads traded the first eight points of the quarter, the Fire used an 18-1 run to give them their largest lead of the contest, 75-46, at the 3:36 mark.
- A layup by Nascimento stopped the Fire run with 3:03 showing on the clock.
- Keiser outscored Southeastern 10-8 over the final three minutes but it wasn't enough as the Fire went on to win 85-58.
