Late Score Completes Flag Football Comeback Win Over Ottawa, 26-25

The Seahawks scored the final 13 points of the fourth while the defense pitched a shutout, lifting Keiser to the come from behind, 26-25 victory over Ottawa on Wednesday afternoon.

First Quarter
Keiser 7, Ottawa 0
  • Keiser University trailed for the first time in program history when Ottawa scored on a two-yard touchdown pass with 6:34 remaining. The one-point conversation was successful, making it 7-0.
  • The Seahawks managed just 25-yards of offense in the quarter.

Second Quarter
Keiser 7, Ottawa 19
  • The Seahawks clawed to within one when Jazmin Rhoden connected with Akiyah Taylor for a 12-yard touchdown.
  • The one-point try was successful as Rhoden and Adriana Rodriguez hooked-up, tying the game at 7-7 with 8:04 to go in the half.
  • The Braves answered back on their next drive as Carrera completed a two-yard touchdown pass with 4:22 to go. The one-point try was unsuccessful as Ottawa led, 13-7.
  • OU extended their advantage to 19-7 as Correra completed a five-yard touchdown pass with 20 seconds remaining in the half. For the second straight time, the one-point try was no good.

Third Quarter

  • Keiser made it a one-possession game when Rhoden found Rodriguez from two-yards out.
  • The one-point try was no good as the Seahawks trailed 19-13 with 6:04 to go.
  • With 59 ticks showing, Correra nailed Camacho for a ten-yard touchdown. Following the failed one-point try, OU led 25-13.

Fourth Quarter
Keiser 26, Ottawa 25
  • Rhoden threw a perfect strike over the middle to Shatayvia Riche for a 17-yard touchdown.
  • Rhoden then completed the one-point try to Kennedy Foster to trail 25-19 with 5:09 showing.
  • The Seahawks got a huge defensive stop with 3:02 remaining as Ottawa turned it over on downs at their own 18-yard line.
  • Two plays later, Rhoden found a wide-open Foster for the 18-yard go-ahead touchdown as KU led 26-25 after the failed one-point attempt.
