Keiser University dropped their final regular season road game on Thursday evening to St. Thomas, 70-64. The Seahawks will conclude the regular season on Saturday against Ave Maria for senior day.
Keiser 10, St. Thomas 20
- Each team scored on their opening possession before the Bobcats ran off four straight points to lead 6-2 with 7:06 left.
- Keiser closed to within a possession, 9-6, but a 9-2 burst by STU extended their advantage to 18-8 with 30 seconds to go.
- Keondra Smith scored her sixth point of the quarter as KU trailed 20-10 at the end of the quarter.
Keiser 31, St. Thomas 31
- The Bobcats stretched their lead to the largest of the half, 26-15, when Andressa Nascimeno and Emily Patton hit back-to-back three-pointers as KU trailed by five at the 4:38 mark.
- A Chiara De Virgilio three-pointer made it a four-point game, but STU connected on long ball of their own to lead 31-24 at the intermission.
Keiser 39, St. Thomas 52
- Smith started the new half with a jumper, but five unanswered Bobcat points stretched the margin to 37-26 with 7:45 to go.
- Antigonie Sanabria tallied the next five points as Keiser closed to within six with 6:49 showing on the scoreboard.
- A 7-0 run by the home team extended the Seahawks deficit to 44-31 with 3:59 remaining in the frame.
- Keiser closed to within 10, 46-36, when the Bobcats tallied the next six points, claiming their largest lead of the game, 52-36, with 53 ticks left.
- Stina Rehn-Andersson nailed a three-pointer as KU trailed 52-39 with one quarter left.
Keiser 64, St. Thomas 70
- A De Virgilio three-pointer at the 6:24 mark trimmed the margin to single digits, 57-48.
- The Seahawks continued to battle, getting to within six, 65-59, on a Patton three-pointer with 1:31 showing.
- However, St. Thomas tallied the next four points, extending their lead to 69-59.
- A pair of De Virgilio free throws and Patton three-pointer brought the margin down to five with 15 ticks left.
- The Bobcats saw the game off, winning 70-64.
