Three-Point Shooting Carries Women's Basketball Past Warner, 67-49

Behind a season-high 13 made three-pointers, the Keiser women's basketball team cruised past Sun Conference foe Warner, 67-49, Saturday afternoon.

How it Happened

First Quarter
Keiser 21, Warner 12
  • Warner jumped out to the early lead with a 6-2 start at the 6:47 mark, before the Keiser offense kicked it into gear.
  • Back-to-back three-pointers by Andressa Nascimento and Emily Patton jump-started a 19-6 run for the Seahawks, closing out the quarter with a 21-12 lead.
  • Patton led the charge for Keiser with 14 consecutive points during the run.

Second Quarter
Keiser 41, Warner 22
  • Following a Royals basket to open the quarter, Keiser reeled off 13 of the next 16 points to take their largest lead of the half, 34-15, with 6:30 left.
  • Warner answered with five straight points, cutting the margin to, 34-20, at the 5:26 mark.
  • Keiser closed the half on a 7-2 run to lead the Royals, 41-22, at the break.

Third Quarter
Keiser 57, Warner 28
  • An Antigonie Sanabria triple to open the third quarter of play sparked an 8-0 run, pushing their lead to 27, 49-22, at the 7:10 mark.
  • Keiser was stout defensively in the quarter, holding the Royals without a basket until 5:37 remained in the period.
  • The Seahawks totaled eight of the final 12 points of the quarter to take a 57-28 lead into the fourth.

Fourth Quarter
Keiser 67, Warner 49
  • Stina Rehn-Andersson gave Keiser their largest lead of the contest, 65-31, with a split at the line at the 6:14 mark, capping off an 8-3 start to the quarter.
  • Despite Warner closing the contest on an 18-2 run, the Seahawks cruised to a 67-49 win.

  • 2: Patton and Sanabria were the lone Seahawks in double figures with 20 and 12 respectively.
  • 3: Nascimento tied for a game-best with three steals in the victory.
  • 4: Skykim Gillion and Chiara De Virgilio dished out a game-best four assists apiece in the win.
  • 10: Keiser won the battle on the boards, 44-34.
  • 11: Angela Denis hauled in a game-best 11 rebounds in the win.
  • 13: Keiser hit a season-high 13 three-pointers in the win, led by Patton with six.
