Men's Tennis Wins Three Singles Flights at Barry Invitational

Box Score The Keiser men's tennis team left the Barry Invitational with three flight championships on Sunday. The Seahawks went 4-2 in singles play, taking home the flight A, B, and D championships against the Division II field. KU went 6-6 in doubles, with two teams making it to their respective flight finals.

The highlights of the day included an all Keiser top-flight matchup with Luke Simkiss edging out Yassir Kilani for the flight A title, 6-7(5), 6-2, 10-7. Bart Nouws cruising through the C flight bracket and winning over Palm Beach Atlantic's Erik Carlsten, 6-2, 6-3. And finally, Charly Zick winning the marathon match over Barry's Arnau Rodriguez, 4-6, 7-6(5), 10-6.

Head Coach Daniel Finn said, "Good showing by the boys this weekend to play solid, reach the final in five of the six flights, and win three singles titles against nationally-ranked DII teams. There's still a lot of things we need to work on and improve if we want to get where we need to be, come spring season. The ceiling is high for this group and to be honest, they have barely scratched the surface this weekend. All in all, a decent way to close out the fall schedule performance-wise."
