No. 3 Men's Tennis

Alam Named Sun Conference Male Scholar Athlete of the Year

The Sun Conference announced Keiser University men's tennis student-athlete Shaheed Alam as the 2025-26 Sun Conference Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

The Sun Conference Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year recognizes the conference's top male student-athlete based on academic accomplishments, community service and involvement, on-campus and team leadership, and athletic accomplishments throughout the 2025-26 academic year, as voted on by administrators from each institution in the league.

Alam has established himself as one of the NAIA's premier student-athletes by excelling in the classroom, on the tennis court, and within his community. A business administration major, he was named the NAIA Academic All-America Team Member of the Year for the second consecutive season while also earning NAIA Scholar-Athlete and Sun Conference All-Academic honors for the second straight year. He was additionally recognized on the Keiser President's List.

Beyond his academic and athletic success, Alam has made a lasting impact through community service. He founded Project Love-All, a charitable initiative dedicated to giving back to the Singapore community through tennis, raising more than $32,000 to date. In August 2025, he expanded those efforts by launching Serving Our Heroes, a chapter that uses the sport of tennis to create meaningful social impact.

As noted by the Keiser coaching staff, Alam's leadership is equally evident within the men's tennis program, where he has earned the respect of teammates and coaches through his character, positivity, and work ethic. His consistent energy, gratitude, and commitment to excellence have helped foster a culture of accountability and encouragement among the Seahawks.

On the court, Alam continued to rank among the nation's elite. He earned First-Team All-America honors for the fourth consecutive season, was named the 2026 ITA Singles Player of the Year, and collected First-Team All-Sun Conference recognition. He finished the year ranked No. 1 in the NAIA singles rankings after compiling a 19-3 overall singles record and a 22-4 doubles mark. Alam also teamed with Heber Santos to finish No. 6 nationally in doubles after posting a 13-1 record together on court three.

Alam's remarkable achievements throughout the 2025-26 academic year made him a deserving recipient of one of the Sun Conference's highest individual honors.
