Women's Tennis Closes Out Fall Schedule at Barry Invitational

Box Score Keiser women's tennis team wrapped up day three of the Barry Invitational on Sunday. The Seahawks went 3-2 in singles against Palm Beach Atlantic and Hillsborough and 1-2 in doubles against Barry and Hillsborough.

The highlights of the day were Anique Engelbrecht and Kanon Sorakubo winning their singles matches in super tiebreak fashion. Engelbrecht faced Alessia Passerini of Palm Beach Atlantic, winning 6-3, 1-6, 10-8. Sorakubo defeated Viktoryia Zhadzinskaya of Hillsborough 6-1, 4-6, 12-10.

Head Coach Daniel Finn said, "I thought the girls competed pretty well today. With the youth on this team, these events in the fall are really about development, and you could see that throughout the event. We faced very strong competition in this event and I was happy to see some of our younger players hold their own and pick up quality wins. Very good win today from Niki and Vanja against an experienced Barry team. The girls still have a high ceiling that we haven't begun to reach and that lets you know that even better things are on the horizon for the spring."

Assistant Coach Megane Bianco said, "Good effort from the girls this weekend. I'm always happy to see the effort turn into results. This was a tough event with two of the best teams in Division II and I thought the girls sent a few statements with their play."
