Keiser women's tennis team completed a tough second day at the Barry Invitational on Saturday. The Seahawks went 1-5 in singles against Barry and Hillsborough and 1-2 in doubles against Flagler.
The highlights of the day were
Nicole Coopersmith and
Vanja Vidanovic taking down the No. 1 doubles team of Eden Schlagenhauf and Alessandra Traub from Flagler, 6-1. In singles,
Florencia Araya picked up a win on court four against Olivia Pezo of Hillsborough, 7-5, 6-4.
Head Coach
Daniel Finn said, "Tough day overall, though doubles played better today. Early on, the girls came out and did a much better job in doubles. They played more systematically and the results showed. In the end, the results weren't on our side in singles, but I thought the girls did a good job of competing and trying to find ways into matches, despite the obstacles. This is a tough event and we get one more chance tomorrow to put on a strong showing."
