The No. 6 Keiser football team rallied from a 13-point third-quarter deficit to edge past Kentucky Christian, 24-16, in a non-conference matchup Saturday afternoon on the road. Saturday's win marked the third in a row for the Seahawks.

For the third straight contest, running back, Marques Burgess, surpassed 160-yards on the ground to help lead Keiser to victory. 

First Quarter
Keiser 3, Kentucky Christian 3
  • The defense took the field first after Keiser won the toss and deferred to the second half.
  • The Knights took an early 3-0 lead as Paul Rodriguez capped off the opening drive with a 38-yard field goal attempt at the 9:11 mark.
  • Keiser answered with three of their own as Chance Gagnon connected from 28-yards out to level the score, 3-3, with 3:22 remaining in the quarter.
  • On the ensuing drive, Sage Chen-Young intercepted his second pass of the season, setting up the Seahawks at the Kentucky Christian 28-yard line with 2:04 left on the clock.
  • Keiser failed to capitalize off the turnover and turned the ball over on downs.
  • Through 15 minutes of action, the score remained level at 3-3.
  • Victor Alvarez Jr. recorded the lone sack of the quarter for Keiser.

Second Quarter
Keiser 3, Kentucky Christian 9
  • Keiser looked to take their first lead of the game on their opening drive of the second quarter but a missed field goal from 35-yards out by Gagnon kept the score locked at 3-3.
  • The Knights regained the lead with :22 ticks left on the clock as Jordan Brown punched it in from a yard out. After Camron Allen blocked the Knights extra point, KU trailed 9-3 heading into the half.

Third Quarter
Keiser 17, Kentucky Christian 16
  • Kentucky Christian extended their lead on their first drive of the second half as Brown found the end zone again, this time from five yards out. Following the extra point, the Knights led 16-3 with 9:34 left in the quarter.
  • Wendol Philord provided a huge spark for the Seahawks as the freshman returned the ensuing kick 60 yards to the Kentucky Christian 20-yard line.
  • Four plays later, Burgess hit paydirt from seven yards out to cut into the deficit at the 7:38 mark. Gagnon's extra point made the score 16-10, Kentucky Christian.
  • Keiser's defense stood tall on the next drive as they forced a turnover-on-downs, sending the offense back to work.
  • The Seahawks only needed three plays to find the end zone as Jaden Meizinger powered his way in from 19 yards out to give KU their first lead of the day. Following Gagnon's extra point, KU led 17-16 with 2:54 left on the clock.

Fourth Quarter
Keiser 24, Kentucky Christian 16
  • Keiser looked to extend their lead with 9:10 left in the game but Gagnon missed his second straight attempt, this time from 30-yards out.
  • Burgess increased the Seahawks lead, 24-16, with a 47-yard touchdown run up the middle with 1:26 showing on the clock.
  • The Knights threatened on their ensuing drive, reaching KU territory before back-to-back penalties (delay of game and false start) put them behind the chains.
  • After failing to convert a fourth-and-18, the Seahawks took over and wasted no time increasing their lead.
  • On the first play of the drive, Burgess broke free for a 47-yard score up the middle. The touchdown pushed Keiser's lead to 24-16 with 1:26 left in the game.
  • The Knights got inside Seahawk territory on the final possession of the game but never threatened as KU held on for the 24-16 victory.

  • Saturday's matchup marked the first meeting all-time between the Seahawks and Knights
  • With the win, Keiser improved to 2-1 on the road this year.
  • All-time, the Seahawks are now 12-6 away from home
