The No. 6 Keiser football team saw their 12-game Mid-South Conference Sun Division win streak come to an end Saturday night as they fell to Southeastern, 20-17.

The conference loss was the Seahawks first at home in program history.

First Quarter
Keiser 14, Southeastern 0
  • Keiser's defense took the field first after the Seahawks won the toss and deferred to the second half. 
  • The defense stood tall on the opening drive, forcing a three-and-out and sending the KU offense to work.
  • Shea Spencer capped off a methodical 12 play 65-yard drive with a three-yard run to put the Seahawks on the board first at the 7:56 mark. Chance Gagnon's extra point made it 7-0.
  • During the drive, Marquess Burgess totaled 42 yards on the ground.
  • Following another three-and-out by the Fire, Burgess pushed the lead to 14-0 with a six-yard run with 1:44 left in the quarter.
  • The score capped off a nine-play 65-yard drive that featured seven rushes.
  • Keiser's defense closed the quarter strong, forcing their third straight three-and-out of the contest.
  • Jamian Lovett registered a sack during the drive, putting Southeastern behind the chains.

Second Quarter
Keiser 14, Southeastern 10
  • Keiser opened the second quarter with the ball, but the Fire quickly regained possession as Shea Spencer's pass was intercepted by Joseph Bonga at the Southeastern 18 yard line.
  • The Fire capitalized off the turnover and shifted momentum with a nine-play 82-yard drive, capped off by a 22-yard pass from Cooper Jones to Myles Henderson. Tristan Connell's extra point cut the lead to 14-7 at the 9:19 mark.
  • After a three-and-out by Keiser, Connell connected on a 35-yard field goal with 1:04 left in the half to trim the Seahawk lead to 14-10.
  • Keiser took one final shot at the end zone to close the half but Jack Strouse's pass was picked off by Joey Chatman.

Third Quarter
Keiser 17, Southeastern 10
  • Gagnon registered the lone points of the third quarter as the freshman's 33-yard field goal attempt was true, pushing the KU lead to 17-10 with :35 ticks showing on the clock.

Fourth Quarter
Keiser 17, Southeastern 20
  • The Fire trimmed the lead to four, 17-13, with a 38-yard field goal by Connell at the 13:16 mark.
  • Southeastern jumped in front, 20-17, for the first time all night as Jones found Wendell Harris on a corner route for an 11-yard touchdown with 2:06 remaining in the contest. 
  • Keiser couldn't answer as they went three-and-out on the ensuing drive.
  • Lorine Parker iced the game for the Fire with a 10-yard run on third and three as the Seahawks fell 20-17.

  • Keiser is now 2-2 and 1-1 at home all-time against the Fire
