Led by a dominant rushing attack and strong defense, the No. 12 Keiser football team rolled past the Royals of Warner University Saturday afternoon in a Mid-South Conference Sun Division contest in Lakeland, Fla. In the win, the Seahawks set a new program record for rushing yards in a game with 367.

Running back Marques Burgess set a new program single-game record for touchdowns in a game with four in the victory. The junior also became the first player in program history to surpass 3,000 career rushing yards.

Wide Receiver Caleb Walls became the second receiver in program history to surpass 1,000 yards for a career.

Defensive back Sage Chen-Young became the first player in program history to record 20 career interceptions after picking off two passes in the win.

First Quarter
Keiser 14, Warner 0
  • Johnathan Mosley and the Keiser offense took the field first after Warner won the toss and deferred to the second half. 
  • The Seahawks marched 60-yards down the field on their opening drive behind the running of Burgess, who capped off the 12 play drive with a two-yard run at the 9:55 mark. Chance Gagnon's extra point made it 7-0, KU.
  • The Royals coughed up the ball on the first play of the ensuing drive, leading to a Sage Chen-Young recovery at the Warner 30-yard line. 
  • Keiser failed to convert off the turnover as they turned the ball over on downs with 5:42 left in the quarter.
  • Following a Warner punt, Burgess and the Seahawks offense hit paydirt once again. 
  • The junior took an option pitch from Mosely and scampered down the left sideline for a 42-yard touchdown as :15 ticks remained in the frame. Gagnon's extra point was true as KU led 14-0.

Second Quarter
Keiser 35, Warner 0
  • Warner attempted to get on the scoreboard with a 49-yard field goal attempt at the 9:09 mark but Camron Allen came away with the block and the Seahawks took over at their own 48-yard line.
  • Four plays later, Keiser was in the end zone as Burgess carried it in from 23-yards out for his third score of the day with 7:30 left in the half. Gagnon's kick was good, upping the lead to 21-0.
  • After Keiser's defense forced the third Royal punt of the half, Mosley hit Caleb Walls across the middle for a 44-yard touchdown, increasing the lead to 28-0 as 4:35 showed on the clock.
  • Cordell Wiley and Alessandro Cantillo registered sacks on the next Warner drive, forcing yet another Royals punt.
  • Keiser's offense struck again as Burgess powered his way in from 17-yards out with :30 ticks left in the half. After Gagnon's extra point, KU led 35-0.
  • The 35-point halftime lead was the Seahawks' largest of the season. 

Third Quarter
Keiser 49, Warner 0
  • Chen-Young took over defensively on the first two drives of the second half, registering his 19th and 20th career interceptions.
  • Keiser capitalized off both picks as Shea Spencer connected with Walls for a nine-yard score and then followed with a 10-yard keeper as 5:50 remained in the quarter.
  • Gagnon converted both extra-point opportunities as the Seahawks led 49-0.
  • Keiser closed out the quarter threatening once again inside Warner territory.

Fourth Quarter
Keiser 56, Warner 0
  • Autry opened the fourth quarter with a 43-yard touchdown run to close out the scoring on the afternoon. Gagnon's extra point made it 56-0 KU with 14:48 left.
  • In the quarter, Ja'Marri Christie forced a fumble that Da'Shon Lewis recovered and Cordell Wiley recovered another Royal fumble to close out the win.
  • Saturday's 56-0 win was the Seahawks' largest margin of victory this season.

  • Saturday's meeting was the fourth all-time between the two programs
  • The win improved the Seahawks to 4-0 all-time against the Royals
  • The shutout was Keiser's second of the season
