The Keiser women's tennis team completed day one at the ITA Cup in Rome, Ga. on Thursday. The Seahawks went 2-1 on the day with one win in singles and one in doubles play.
Â
The highlight of opening day was the dominance of
Nicole Coopersmith paired with bounce back ability of
Vanja Vidanovic. Vidanovic fell to the No. 6 ranked player in NAIA at the end of last season, Selina Pichler. However, after a quick 6-3, 6-0 win for Coopersmith in singles, the duo got together and dominated in the doubles match against Carolina Guerrero and Alison Isaac, (6-1, 6-2).Â
Â
Head CoachÂ
Daniel Finn had this to say, "Not bad today. Thought that we handled the situations that were put in front of us for the most part. Tomorrow is a new day and we will need to rest up and get ready"
