.How it Happened
  • In the 23rd minute, Grace McClellan launched a ball downfield to put Ramona Kannady 1-on-1 with the keeper, where Kannady placed it into the lower-left corner to give Keiser the 1-0 lead.
  • Less than two minutes later, Fanni Pietikainen served a corner kick to the front post where it bounced off a couple of USCB defenders before rolling over the line for the 2-0, KU lead.
  • USCB quickly responded with a goal of their own to cut the Seahawks lead to 2-1 where it remained for the rest of the half.
  • Kyoka Koshijima took a pass from Maja Lundman before putting a move on a defender and shooting it into the left side of the net, giving Keiser the 3-1 advantage in the 51st minute.
  • Following a Wilma Lundstroem throw-in, Kannady found Lundman at the top of the box who rocketed a shot into the top of the netting to make the score 4-1 in favor of KU with 30 minutes left to play.
  • Five minutes later, the Sand Sharks cut the deficit in half courtesy of a chip shot from Madison Foshee.
  • Just three minutes after that, Lundstroem picked up a loose ball and found Kannady who ripped her second goal into the upper left corner for the 5-2 Seahawks lead.
  • USCB would not go down easily and found the back of the net off a corner kick set-piece which resulted in a Lauren Wood header to make the score 5-3 in the 79th minute.
  • Koshijima secured her second goal of the afternoon in the 85th minute off a cross from Maja Henriksson.
