The Seahawks played their first overtime game of the season, prevailing, 90-85 against Great Lakes Christian.

How it Happened

First Half
Keiser 34, Great Lakes Christian 35
  • Coming off a career performance, Shaquille Harris scored five of the opening seven points for Keiser to lead 7-3 at the 15:12 mark.
  • Back-to-back three-pointers by Great Lake Christian put them on top for the first time, 9-7, with 14:14 remaining in the opening half.
  • The contest then endured one tie and three lead changes before CoreVon Lott hit a jumper to lead 14-11 at the 9:50 media timeout.
  • The Seahawks matched their largest lead of the half, 17-13, when the Crusaders went on an 11-4 run, reclaiming a 24-21 advantage with 4:28 showing.
  • GLC stretched their lead to as many as four, 29-25, but a 6-2 spurt capped by a Darius Bryant three-pointer evened the score at 31-31 with 50 seconds remaining.
  • Following a Great Lakes layup, Ryan Kroll hit a three-pointer, putting KU back ahead, 34-33, with 31 seconds left.
  • However, the Crusaders led 35-34 at the intermission as Ishiah Reed nailed a jumper with five seconds left.

Second Half
Keiser 76, Great Lakes Christian 76
  • The opening four minutes featured seven lead changes and two ties.
  • Lott had the hot hand coming out of the locker-room, scoring the Seahawks opening six points to lead 41-39 with 18:23 left.
  • Following four lead changes, the Crusaders tallied five straight points for a 50-45 advantage at the 14:15 mark.
  • A Lott three-pointer and Antwan Claxton layup knotted the game at 50-50 with 13:54 remaining in regulation.
  • After trading the lead, back-to-back layups by Marko Radulovic and Lott put KU back ahead, 57-54, with 12:16 to go.
  • The Crusaders answered back with four straight points to lead by one, but a Lott three-pointer at the ten-minute mark made it 60-58 in favor of KU.
  • With the score tied at 62-62, Keiser used a 7-0 run to lead 69-62, forcing a GLC timeout with 7:54 left in the contest.
  • The Seahawks led by as many as eight, 72-64, when the Crusaders went on an 8-0, tying the game at 72-72 with 2:37 remaining.
  • A pair of Claxton free throws at the 1:41 mark halted the run, but four straight points by the Crusaders put them on top, 76-74, with 51 ticks to go and a Keiser timeout.
  • Claxton was fouled with 32 seconds remaining, converting both attempts to even the score at 76-76.
  • The Seahawks came up with a crucial stop, forcing a shot clock violation with nine seconds remaining in regulation.
  • Quinton Glaspie's game-winning layup at the buzzer was no good as the game went into overtime tied at 76-76. 

Overtime
Keiser 90, Great Lakes Christian 85
  • Great Lakes split at the charity stripe before Lott converted on a layup to lead 78-77 with 4:11 to go in the first overtime.
  • The Crusaders were then fouled on a three-point attempt as Isiah Reed converted all three at the line go in front by one at the 3:04 mark.
  • A pair of Harris free throws along with a Claxton jumper in the paint put KU on top, 82-80, with 1:34 left.
  • Harris connected on the 11th three-pointer of the game for GLC, giving them their final lead of the evening, 83-82 at the 1:26 mark.
  • Keiser then went on a 6-0 spurt, reclaiming an 88-83 advantage with 20 ticks left on the scoreboard.
  • The Crusaders hit a jumper with 18 seconds left but it wasn't enough as the Seahawks iced the game away at the charity stripe, winning, 90-85.

  • 1: This was the first overtime game of the season of the Seahawks. Keiser is now 10-9 all-time in those contests.
  • 3: The Seahawks had three players record double-figures led by a game-best 27 from Lott.
  • 5: Ryan Kroll led the Seahawks with five dimes.
