The Keiser men's basketball team saw their four-game win streak come to an end on the road Thursday evening as they fell to Warner in a Sun Conference battle, 97-84.
Keiser 15, Warner 35
- It was a slow start offensively for the Seahawks as they failed to score on their opening nine possessions allowing Warner to jump out to a 13-0 lead heading into the 14:55 media timeout.
- Keiser finally broke through on the scoreboard after the media stoppage when Shaquille Harris converted one of two free throw attempts to make it 13-1.
- CoreVon Lott connected on the first made basket of the night for the Seahawks as the junior drilled home a wing three to cut Warner's lead to 15-4 with 14:03 showing on the clock.
- Keiser converted the next basket of the game, but the Royals opened their lead even more with a 9-0 run that stretched nearly three minutes of game action.
- Harris eventually stopped the run with a reverse layup at the 9:53 mark, but Warner continued to pour it on with an 11-2 stretch that gave them their largest lead of the half, 35-10, with 2:50 remaining on the clock.
- Keiser closed out the period on a 5-0 run courtesy of a Colin Hyssong tip-in followed by a Ryan Kroll three to cut the deficit to 35-15 at the break.
Keiser 84, Warner 97
- It was a back-and-forth battle in the opening six minutes of the second half as the Seahawks trailed 51-28 heading into a media timeout with 14:13 left in the contest.
- Warner used back-to-back three-pointers to extend their lead to 28, 59-31, marking their largest lead of the game at the 12:31 mark.
- Trailing 61-33 with 12:02 showing on the clock, the Seahawks put together their best stretch of the night with a 12-3 surge sparked by a Quinton Glaspie and-one. Darius Bryant capped off the run with a triple at the 8:19 mark, cutting the deficit to 64-45.
- Three's began to fall for Keiser as they connected on four of them over the next three minutes, but Warner answered on the other end and kept the Seahawks at arm's length, 78-59.
- Keiser was able to get within 12, 81-69, at the 3:17 mark following a 10-3 run, that featured five points from Marko Radulovic.
- The Seahawks drew as close as 11, 91-80, with 1:25 left on the clock, but were never able to cut the lead down to single digits as they fell 97-84.
- 1: Hyssong pulled down a career-high and game-best 12 rebounds to go along with 13 points off the bench for his first double-double as a Seahawk.
- 4: Four Seahawks reached double-figures on the evening, led by Kroll with 19.
- 7: Kroll and Bryant combined to go 7-of-11 from downtown.
- 20: Keiser connected on 20-of-25 free throw attempts in the loss.
- 39: The Seahawks won the rebounding battle 39-38.
