Keiser University led wire-to-wire on Thursday evening against Thomas University, winning, 65-48. The victory was their fifth in their last six games.

How it Happened

First Quarter
Keiser 12, Thomas 7
  • The Seahawks jumped out to an early 7-2 advantage at the first media timeout of the game with 4:55 showing.
  • Thomas closed to within a possession, 9-7, with 1:29 remaining but Keiser tallied the final three points of the quarter to lead 12-7.
  • Keondra Smith led the way with four points.

Second Quarter
Keiser 27, Thomas 22
  • Antigonie Sanabria scored the first four points of the quarter, extending the margin to 16-7 with 8:37 left in the half.
  • The Night Hawks soared back into the game with an 8-2 run to trail 18-15 with 3:43 to go.
  • Thomas twice got to within three, but KU held a 27-22 advantage at the halftime break.
  • Sanabria led all scorers with 10 points in the half.

Third Quarter
Keiser 46, Thomas 33
  • Keiser opened the new half on a 9-3 spurt, claiming their first double-digit lead of the evening, 35-25, with 6:48 left.
  • Four points by Jahnecia Charles along with a Danila Barrios jumper extended the Seahawks lead to 41-28 with 2:08 remaining.
  • Thomas responded with a 6-0 burst to get within eight, 41-33, with 43 ticks to go in the quarter.
  • However, Shykim Gillion tallied the final five points of the quarter as KU led 46-33.

Fourth Quarter
Keiser 65, Thomas 48
  • Keiser exploded out of the gates, scoring the first eight points as their lead ballooned to the largest of the game, 54-33, with 6:48 showing on the scoreboard.
  • The Seahawks cruised down the stretch, winning by a final score of 65-48.

  • 3: Emily Patton and Sanabria had a game-best three assists apiece.
  • 7: Smith pulled down a team-best seven boards.
  • 13: The home team made 13 free throws.
