How it Happened

First Half
Keiser 33, Florida Memorial 34
  • Florida Memorial gained the upper hand in the opening 3:13 courtesy of an 8-2 start, while the Seahawks struggled from the field going 1-for-6.
  • Keiser responded out of a Lions timeout scoring six of the next eight points, capped off by a Darius Bryant three-pointer, to cut the deficit to two, 10-8, at the 15:28 mark.
  • A Muhammad Gilchrist three slowed Keiser's momentum and stretched FMU's lead back to five, 13-8, at the 14:51 media timeout.
  • The Lions extended their advantage out of the media stoppage, 15-8, before Michael Gavin sparked a 7-2 run that drew the Seahawks to within two, 17-15, with 11:28 showing on the clock. The basket by Gavin ended a three-minute scoring drought for Keiser.
  • Florida Memorial answered with an 8-0 run to build their largest lead of the half, 25-15, at the 8:33 mark.
  • Gavin continued his hot start with back-to-back triples, putting an end to the FMU stretch. Lott followed the sophomore's threes with one of his own to cut the deficit to one, 25-24, with 4:45 left in the half.
  • After the squads traded threes, the Lions totaled four consecutive points to push their lead back to five, 32-27, at the 2:12 mark.
  • Bryant's second triple of the half jumpstarted a 6-2 stretch for Keiser as they trimmed the deficit to one, 34-33, at the break.

Keiser 77, Florida Memorial 66
  • Following an FMU basket to open the second half, Shaquille Harris put the Seahawks in front for the first time on the night, 37-36, with four consecutive points capped off with a two-handed slam.
  • The junior tallied his sixth straight point and the Seahawks stretched the run into a 10-0 surge to extend their lead to seven, 43-36, leading to a FMU timeout at the 16:01 mark.
