The No. 22 Keiser University men's soccer team extinguished the Southeastern University Fire, 6-2, on Wednesday afternoon in West Palm Beach, Fla. The Seahawks bagged three goals in each half.
How it Happened
- The Seahawks opened the scoring in the 14th minute with a Julius Fassbinder volley off an Adrian Camacho Castro corner.
- The duo connected again in the 29th minute, this time with a Fassbinder header on a 35-yard free kick.
- Ciro Damine made it 3-0 in the 43rd minute with a great one-on-one effort against the goalkeeper after Hannu Tam played a perfect diagonal ball.
- A great counter by the Seahawks in the 56th minute resulted in Lucas Jacobs first goal in a Keiser uniform, upping the advantage to 4-0.
- Keiser nearly had their fifth goal of the contest in the 69th minute but Cristobal Molina Campo's shot went off the post and Fassbinder's follow-up went in but he was called offside.
- Alexander Steen bumped the lead to five off a long throw in from Camacho Castro in the 72nd minute. The goal was the fourth of the season for the freshman.
- Six minutes later, Damine volleyed the ball home, following Sebastian Espino's shot that was saved but not punched out of danger.
- Southeastern scored back-to-back goals in a one-minute span during the 72nd minute to get within 6-2. However, the Seahawks saw the game off for their second conference victory of the season.
