The No. 9 Keiser football team continued their hot start to the 2020 season with a 52-7 rout of Webber International in their final non-conference game of the regular season on Saturday night.

For the second consecutive week, the Seahawk defense shined as they forced three turnovers and produced the first defensive touchdown of the 2020 season on a scoop-and-score by Wendol Philord.

First Quarter
No. 9 Keiser 14, Webber 0
  • Keiser won the opening coin toss and elected to defer to the second half, sending the Seahawks defense to work early.
  • KU answered the bell by forcing a Webber three-and-out that was capped off by Victor Alvarez Jr.'s 10th career sack.
  • On their opening drive of the contest, the Seahawks found the end zone on a 13-yard pass from Eli Mathews to Antwione Sims, jumping out to an early 7-0 lead. Sims' third touchdown of the season wrapped up an 11 play, 55-yard drive with 8:06 remaining in the first quarter.
  • Webber's special teams hurt themselves on the ensuing possession as a bad snap gave KU the ball at the Warrior's 16-yard line.
  • Three plays later, Marques Burgess punched it in from six-yards out with 5:37 remaining in the quarter. The touchdown was the junior's 20th career score as a Seahawk.
Second Quarter
No. 9 Keiser 28, Webber 0
  • Keiser wasted no time on their first possession of the second quarter as Mathews found Jerson Jacques streaking down the left sideline for a 44-yard touchdown catch on the opening play of the drive. Jacques' score came with 12:58 remaining and was his fourth career touchdown catch, all of which have come against Webber.
  • After Webber's fourth punt of the evening, the Seahawks hit their first speed bump offensively as Mathews threw his first interception of the season with 9:06 to go until the break.
  • However, Keiser's defense took matters into their own hands as Jalen Wring delivered a strong blow forcing a Webber fumble that was scooped up by Wendol Philord and returned 65-yards for a touchdown. Logan Robinson's extra point put the Seahawks up 28-0 with 6:35 to go until the half.
  • Jequan Gray had the lone highlight before the close of the first half with his first career interception with 1:30 remaining before intermission.
Third Quarter
No. 9 Keiser 42, Webber 7
  • On their opening drive of the second half, Keiser's offense struck again as Mathews hit Jaylen Arnold across the middle for a 23-yard score. After Robinson connected on the extra point, the Seahawks led 35-0 with 12:11 remaining in the quarter.
  • After the third Webber three-and-out of the contest, Mathews found the end zone himself from four-yards out to extend the Keiser lead to 42-0 with 8:15 remaining.
  • The Warriors finally broke through on the scoreboard on the ensuing drive with a 25-yard touchdown run by Tino Hunt to cut the Keiser lead to 42-7 with 2:14 remaining in the quarter. The touchdown was the first the Seahawks have allowed this season.
  • An 18-yard run by Sims put the Seahawks offense in business once again inside the Webber 40-yard line as the third quarter came to a close.
Fourth Quarter
No. 9 Keiser 52, Webber 7
  • Keiser capped off their 12 play 55-yard drive with a 37-yard field goal by Robinson to increase their lead to 45-7 with 11:02 to go in the contest. The made field goal was Robinson's first of the season and 10th of his career.
  • Webber threatened again on their ensuing drive, but a strip sack by Tommy Richemond neutralized the Webber attack as Marc Laurore came away with the recovery at the Warrior's 30-yard line.
  • Six plays later, freshman, Jaden Meizinger, rumbled his way into the end zone for a six-yard score to put the Seahawks over the 50-point mark for the second straight week. Meizinger's score came with 2:15 remaining in the game, capping off the Seahawks' 52-7 win.
