The No. 9 Keiser football team dominated from start to finish in the 2020 season opener as they rolled past Florida Memorial, 62-0, on Saturday afternoon in West Palm Beach. The shutout was the first in program history for the Seahawks.
Keiser's offense was clicking on all cylinders out of the gate, finding the end zone on their first eight possessions. Special teams also had a huge afternoon as
Kade Glenn blocked two punts with one turning into a touchdown.
No. 9 Keiser 28, Florida Memorial 0
- Keiser scored on all four of their possessions in the opening quarter, taking a commanding 28-0 advantage.
- Shavon Taylor received the opening kickoff for the Seahawks and returned it 82 yards to Florida Memorial nine-yard line.
- Four plays later, Marques Burgess punched it in from three-yards out. Following a Logan Robinson extra-point, Keiser led 7-0 with 13:33 remaining.
- On the ensuing series, Glenn blocked his first of two punts on the afternoon, setting up the Seahawks offense on the 44-yard line of the visitors.
- Six plays later and just 1:37 coming off the clock; Burgess found the end zone from five yards out for his second touchdown of the afternoon.
- Florida Memorial's special teams unit hurt themselves for a second time on the afternoon as the snap sailed over the punters head, giving KU the ball on the FMU two-yard line.
- Two runs later, Antwione Sims scored his first Seahawk touchdown as the lead grew to 21-0 with 7:50 to go.
- Sims capped off the big quarter with a 39-yard touchdown run down the left side as Keiser led 28-0 with 3:33 showing.

- With FMU having to punt on their own 49-yard line, Glenn blocked his second punt of the afternoon. After kicking it three times and the ball nearly going out of the end zone, the senior finally fell on top of it to lead 33-0. However, Robinson's extra-point was blocked.
- The Lions finally sustained a long drive, eating up 6:31 while going 69-yards but were unable to convert on fourth down as the Seahawks took over on their own six-yard line.
- Keiser then marched 94 yards on eight plays as Eli Mathews connected with Caleb Walls from three-yards out, upping the margin to 41-0 with 1:37 to go until halftime.
- Following a quick FMU three-and-out, KU started with the ball on the Lions 48 with 1:07 showing on the scoreboard.
- After throwing an incomplete pass on first down, Mathews connected on his next three throws, capped off with an 18-yard dart to Traionn Jones, leading 48-0 at the half.

- Keiser's lone score of the third quarter came on a 67-yard catch and run by Michael Robinson as the margin ballooned to 55-0 with 11:20 remaining.

- Keiser capped off their scoring spree with 3:55 remaining as Jaden Meizinger ran it in from three-yards out, winning the season opener, 62-0.

The Seahawks will remain at home for their next contest as they host Webber International for their final tuneup before conference play. Kickoff is set for Saturday, Sept. 19, at 5:00 p.m

- Robinson starred for the Seahawks in the aerial attack Saturday as the freshman hauled in four catches for 83 yards and a touchdown
- Defensively, the Seahawks were led by senior, Mitchel Desulme, and freshman, Jalen Wring, with 10 and eight tackles respectively
- Junior, Marc Laurore, recorded two sacks in the win and picked up his 10th career tackle for loss
- Overall, the Seahawks outgained the Lions 467-219
