Despite closing the contest on a 17-5 run, the Keiser men's basketball team saw their four game win streak come to a close as they fell to No. 13 LSU-Alexandria 77-73 Saturday night at the Battle at the Beach.
Keiser 28, No. 13 LSU-Alexandria 35
- LSU-Alexandria ran out to a 12-2 lead in the opening minutes of the contest as they connected on five of their first seven shots leading to a Keiser timeout with 17:02 left on the clock.
- Out of the timeout, the Seahawks cut the lead to seven, 12-5, but the Generals came with another offensive wave using a 7-0 spurt to stretch their lead to the largest of the half at 14, 19-5.
- Marko Radulovic ended the run with a triple and sparked a 12-0 Keiser run to draw within two, 19-17, at the 10:48 mark.
- During the run, Keiser forced four Generals turnovers.
- Both teams traded blows back-and-forth over the next six minutes until the Generals expanded their lead back to eight, 33-25, on the heels of a 7-1 run.
- CoreVon Lott was able to halt the run with a wing triple at the 1:04 mark, but LSU-Alexandria scored the final basket of the half to head to the break with a 35-28 lead.
Keiser 73, LSU-Alexandria 77
- A 14-5 run to open the second half by the Generals bloomed their lead to 16, 49-33, with 15:43 ticks left in the contest.
- Following a three-pointer by LSU-Alexandria that gave them their largest lead of the contest at 17, 59-42, the Seahawks cut the lead to eight at the 8:35 mark behind a 12-3 run.
- Antwan Claxton, Lott, Ryan Kroll and John Mason contributed during the run, but the Generals had an answer once again.
- LSU-Alexandria reeled off an 8-0 to build their lead back to 16, 72-56, with 5:00 remaining.
- Keiser never caved in though as they used a 7-0 run to cut the deficit back to single digits at 72-63 with 3:16 remaining in the game.
- The Seahawks continued to chip away and ultimately drew within three points, 76-73, following a Kroll layup with :13 ticks left on the clock capping off a 17-4 run.
- LSU-Alexandria extended their lead to four, 77-73, at the line, ultimately putting an end to the Keiser comeback.
- 3: Three players reached double figures on the evening for the Seahawks, led by Lott with 28.
- 11: Radulovic pulled down a game-high and season-high 11 boards on the night.
- 17: Keiser shot well from the line, connecting on 17-of-19 attempts.
- 18: Kroll tied his career-high with 18 points off the bench.
- 28: Lott posted a game-high 28 points on 10-of-17 shooting in the loss.
