The Seahawks kicked off the Battle at the Beach with a 79-69 victory over William Carey on Friday evening. With the triumph, Keiser improved their winning streak to four straight.
Keiser 40, William Carey 36
- The opening five minutes featured a one-possession game with two lead changes and four ties until William Carey led 13-10.
- The Seahawks used a 9-0 run to take their largest lead of the half, 19-13, behind four points from CoreVon Lott with 12:32 showing on the scoreboard.
- WCU answered with five unanswered points, closing the gap to one with 10:11 remaining in the half.
- After exchanging three-pointers, John Mason scored back-to-back buckets in the paint, upping the margin to 26-21 with 7:29 to go.
- The Crusaders came right back with a 10-3 spurt, jumping back in front of the Seahawks, 31-29, with 3:59 left.
- An old fashioned three-point play by Quinton Glaspie along with a fast break layup from Austin Aubrey put KU back ahead, 34-31 at the 2:52 mark.
- William Carey tied the contest for a final time in the half, 34-34, but the Seahawks held a 40-36 advantage the half.

- The Crusaders started the second half fast using an 8-3 run to take a 45-43 advantage with 18:16 left in regulation.
- The next four minutes had a pair of lead changes and two ties with William Carey taking a timeout with the score knotted at 52-52.
- Out of the stoppage, the Seahawks scored seven of the next nine points to lead 59-54 with 12:47 remaining.
- The Crusaders closed to within a point on a pair of occasions before the Seahawks nailed three straight from beyond the arc to lead 70-60, forcing a WCU timeout with 8:07 left.
- Marko Radulovic hit the first two while Lott accounted for the other.
- Keiser claimed their largest lead of the game, 74-63, with 2:27 to go, but WCU wouldn't go down quietly, running off six straight points and taking a timeout with 1:16 remaining, trailing 74-69.
- The Seahawks buckled down on the defensive end with six stops while converting at the charity to stripe, claiming their fifth straight victory by a final score of 79-69.
- 4: The Seahawks had four players finish with double-digit points led by Radulovic with 19.
- 8: Antwan Claxton, Mason, and Glaspie all grabbed eight rebounds.
- 9: The rebound margin favored KU on the evening, 45-36.
- 10: The Seahawks pulled down 10 offensive rebounds which led to 10 points.
- 12: Keiser connected on 12 three-pointers with Radulovic going 4-of-6.
