The Seahawks opened their home slate with a convincing 113-97 victory against Florida National on Monday afternoon.

The win was the first for Keiser under head coach Marcus "Chief" Bryant.




Keiser 54, Florida National 39

• Four of the five Seahawk starters found themselves in the scoring column led by four points from Antwan Claxton as Keiser led, 11-5 with 15:40 remaining.
• Following a Florida National three-pointer, Keiser ran off eight unanswered points, stretching their advantage to 19-8 with 13:20 to go.
• The Conquistadors got as close as five, 28-23, at the 8:42 mark but the Seahawks responded with a 9-0 run capped by a Darius Bryant three-pointer to lead 37-23 with 6:50 to go.
• The Seahawks spurt extended to 18-3 as the KU lead stood at 46-26 with 4:08 showing on the scoreboard.
• Keiser went on to lead Florida National at the halftime break, 54-39 with Claxton leading all scorers with 20 points on 10-of-13 shooting.

Keiser 113, Florida National 97

• FNU scored six of the first eight points in the new half, closing to within 56-45 with 17:46 remaining in the contest.
• Keiser settled back into the flow with a 10-3 spurt, connecting on two from long range, bumping the margin to 66-49 with 16:02 left.
• Florida National closed to within 12 on three occasions with the final occasion being 78-66 with 10:40 to go.
• The Seahawks would not allow the Conquistadors to get any closer, taking their largest lead of the contest on a John Mason three-pointer, 105-85, with 4:05 remaining.
• Keiser went on to claim their first victory of the season by the final score of 113-97 as five Seahawks reached double-figure points.
