Keiser University dropped their season and Sun Conference opener to St. Thomas, 74-59 on Thursday evening. Tonight's contest marked the debut for head coach Marcus "Chief" Bryant.




No. 21 Keiser 38, St. Thomas 43 

• The Seahawks trailed 8-3 before a deep three-pointer by Darius Bryant was followed by a layup from Antwan Claxton, tying the game at 8-8 with 16:12 remaining.
• St. Thomas answered right back with a 10-1 run, retaking an 18-9 advantage with 11:52 to go.
• Keiser surged back with a 10-2 spurt as four different plays scored, led by four points from CoreVon Lott to trail, 20-19 with 7:22 left.
• After trading three-pointers, Claxton gave KU their first lead of the season, 24-23, with five minutes remaining.
• Following a pair of lead changes, Quinton Glaspie hit a jumper in the paint for the largest lead of the game, 28-25 with 3:22 to go.
• However, the Bobcats closed the half with eight unanswered points to lead the Seahawks, 33-28.

• Keiser slowly chipped away at their deficit until Marko Radulovic tied it at 42-42 with a layup at the 14:46 mark.
• The Seahawks took their first lead of the second half, 49-47, as Lott converted on a layup with 9:48 left in regulation.
• St. Thomas jumped right back on top, 56-49, hitting three straight from beyond the arc, forcing Keiser to take a timeout with 7:41 to go.
• Keiser did not connect on a field goal during the final 9:48 of the contest and trailed by as many as 18, falling by the final of 74-59.

• 4: Claxton finished with a game-best four steals.
• 5: Keiser's starting five were all new players to the team.
• 9: Harris nearly had a double-double in his debut, finishing with nine boards.
