The second half proved costly on Thursday evening as the Seahawks let an 11 point first half lead slip away a key Sun Conference game, falling 62-57.

How it Happened

First Quarter
Keiser 17, Webber Int'l 14
  • Emily Patton had the lone bucket for the Seahawks as they trailed the Warriors, 9-3 with 5:33 remaining in the quarter.
  • Keiser found their rhythm, scoring the next eight points to take their first lead of the game, 11-9 with 1:56 to go.
  • The lead changed hands four times before the Seahawks ran off the final four points to lead, 17-14.

Second Quarter
Keiser 34, Webber Int'l 23
  • KU scored five quick points to open the quarter, stretching the margin to 22-14 at the 9:20 mark.
  • Following a Warriors three-pointer, Alasjia Dykes and Patton scored four points apiece as Keiser led 30-17 with 5:55 to go.
  • Out of their own timeout, WIU tallied five straight points to get within eight, 30-22, with 2:05 remaining.
  • Back-to-back buckets by Patton and Antigonie Sanabria raised the advantage back to double digits, 34-22 with 10.3 seconds left.
  • The Seahawks went on to lead to the Warriors, 34-23 at halftime with Sanabria and Patton scoring nine points apiece in the half.

Third Quarter

  • Patton drilled a three-pointer with 6:25 remaining in the quarter, giving Keiser their largest lead of the game, 41-27.
  • Webber stormed back with a 9-2 run to get within a single possession, 43-40, with 2:53 showing on the scoreboard.
  • After trading buckets, WIU tallied four straight points to go in front for the first time since the opening quarter, 46-45, with 1:12 left.
  • Neither team scored again in the quarter with Keiser trailing 47-45.

Fourth Quarter
Keiser 57, Webber Int'l 62
  • Webber scored the opening four points before Daniela Barrios drilled a three-pointer as Keiser trailed 51-48 with 7:30 left.
  • The Seahawks got as close as two, 54-52, with 4:40 to go before the Warriors netted six straight points to lead 60-52, forcing a KU timeout with 3:12 showing.
  • A Sanabria three-pointer was the lone points for either team over the next two minutes as the Seahawks trailed 60-55.
  • Keondra Smith drained a jumper from the wing with 48.7 seconds remaining, forcing WIU to take a timeout.
  • The Seahawks defense came up with a stop but were unable to score on the offensive side, leading to the fouling game with 11.3 seconds to go.
  • Franklin stepped up to the line with 8.1 seconds, converting both and then Keiser took a timeout to advance the ball.
  • However, the Seahawks were unable to score again, falling in the Sun Conference game, 62-57.

  • 12: Long pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds.
