Keiser Highlights
- Keiser finished the contest with nine hits coming from seven different players in the lineup.
- Juan De La Cruz had a great start to the doubleheader, recording his first career multi-home run game. The senior finished 2-for-4 with a game-high and career-high five RBI's.
- Ezequias Encarnacion joined De La Cruz with a multi-hit outing, going 2-for-3 with a single, double, walk, and an RBI.
- Ryan Powers and Erick Vargas were solid for the Seahawks, with Powers conceding two earned runs on just one hit in three innings pitched while Vargas held the Warriors scoreless in 2.2 innings.
Turning Point
The Warriors' offense did not take long to come alive as the hosts went in front 9-2 through the game's first two innings, and the deficit proved to be too much for the Seahawks to come back from.
How it Happened
- The Warriors struck first by pushing a run across in the first on a two-out double, but any potential further damage was avoided as De La Cruz gunned down a would-be base stealer at second base.
- Encarnacion started the top of the second with a leadoff single, and De La Cruz proceeded to blast a two-run homer to center field to put the Seahawks ahead 2-1.
- However, Webber answered with eight runs on seven hits in the second frame to reclaim a 9-2 advantage.Â
- With two-outs in the third inning, the Seahawks offense came alive with four runs to climb within 9-6. Encarnacion started the scoring with an RBI double to center and De La Cruz followed with a three-run home run down the left field line.
- The Warriors added two more runs in the fifth and eighth innings to take game one, 13-6, clinching the series against the Seahawks.

How it Happened
- For the second straight game, Webber used clutch two-out hitting in the first to take a 1-0 lead.
- The Seahawks drew even in the third as Hall drew a bases-loaded walk. Keiser was looking to score more in the inning but Encarnacion struck out swinging.\
- Keiser grabbed their first lead in the fifth, 3-1, as Fernandez brought in a pair of runners with a single down the right field line.
- However, Webber exploded in the bottom half with seven runs as they reclaimed an 8-3 lead.
- In the seventh, RBI singles by Hall and De La Cruz cut the deficit to three but WIU took all momentum away in the bottom half with two runs of their own.
- Webber went on to add two more runs in the eighth as the Seahawks suffered their first conference sweep of the year, 12-5.
- Keiser brought two runs across in the 7th to draw to within 8-5, as Hall and De La Cruz each produced RBI singles.
