  • Both teams' registered eight hits in the contest led by Peter Crocitto with three hits and a game-best two runs batted in.
  • Amiel Abreu evened his record at 2-2 after going five innings with eight strikeouts. Fisher Cole gained his second save of the year after getting the final out of the contest with the tying run on first.

Aquinas looked to make things interesting late in the game but Cole registered the final out with the tying run on first and the winning run up at the dish.

How it Happened
  • Aquinas scored a run in the top of the first but the Seahawks answered with three in the bottom half.
  • Diaz drew a leadoff walk before moving to third on a single down the right field line by Sanjurjo. After Sanjurjo swiped second, Hall drew a walk to load the bases.
  • A wild pitch allowed the tying run to cross and Crocitto gave the Seahawks a one-run lead with an RBI single through the left side. After back-to-back strikeouts, a fielding error on a fielder's choice allowed the final run of the frame to cross as KU led 3-1.
  • Keiser tacked on two more runs in the fourth with two-outs. Josh Aprea began with a single through the right side and pinch-runner, Purcell moved to second on a sacrifice bunt.
  • Hall pushed across the first run with an RBI single to left and Crocitto followed with a huge double to left-center as the margin raised to 5-1.
  • AQ made the game tight down the stretch with a run in the fifth, sixth, and seventh innings but came up one run short as Keiser took game one, 5-4.

  • The Seahawks fell in extra-innings of the second game against Aquinas, 4-3.
  • Juan De La Cruz had two of the Seahawks eight hits.
  • Alex Alfonso took his first loss of the year, tossing 1.2 innings of relief.
 

How it Happened
  • Just like in game one, Aquinas scored a run in the first inning to take an early advantage.
  • The Seahawks evened the game in the third with a two-out RBI single by Crocitto, scoring Fernandez, who reached on a one-out single.
  • The Saints regained the advantage in the fifth after pushing across two runs to make it 3-1.
  • A two-out double by Nate VanKan, plated Encarnacion, who also reached on a ddouble to get within a run in the sixth. Pinch-hitter, Sanjurjo then tied the game at 3-3 with an RBI single to center.
  • However, Aquinas won the  game in the eighth after their first three runners reached and Smitz singled up the middle to score the winning run.
 
Up Next
The Seahawks get back into Sun Conference play this weekend with a three-game set against Ave Maria. Game one is set for Friday at 2:00 p.m.
