How it Happened
- Luis Rodriguez drilled the first pitch of the game over the left-center fence for a 1-0 Ave Maria lead.
- The Seahawks answered back in the bottom half with a pair of RBI singles by Crocitto and Nate VanKan to take a 3-1 advantage.
- A leadoff home run in the second by the Gyrenes was matched in the bottom half by Fernandez with one-out as the score stood at 4-2.
- Three straight singles ensued with two-outs as Crocitto drove in a run to lead 5-2. Reilly then cleared the bases with a three-run shot over the left field fence as the margin grew to 8-2.
- Ave Maria connected on a solo home run in the top of the fourth but Hall answered with a two-run shot in the bottom half as the advantage ballooned to 10-3. Clutch two-out hitting by Encarnacion resulted in an RBI double down the left field line as the lead was now 11-3.
- In the seventh, Crocitto ended the game early as he ripped a double off the left field fence as Keiser took game one, 13-3.
