Pinch Hitting
The Seahawks used three guys off the bench this afternoon, boasting a 2-for-2 performance along with a walk.
How it Happened
- Warner came out of the gates quickly by scoring  two runs on two hits in the first but Keiser answered with three in the bottom half.
- The first two batters reached before Crocitto brought in a run with an RBI double down the left field line. Ezequias Encarnacion followed with an RBI single to left, tying the game at two-apiece. The Seahawks then took their first lead of the day on a double play.
- Crocitto tacked on a run in the second with an RBI fielder's choice and a leadoff home run by Drew Reilly, his first of the season, extended the Seahawks advantage to 5-2 through three innings of play.
- However, the Royals plated two runs in the fourth and three in the seventh to reclaim a 7-5 advantage.
- In the bottom half of the seventh, a clutch two-out, pinch-hit RBI single through the left side by Garrett Hall brought KU to within a run. The Seahawks nearly tied or retook the lead but stranded the bases-loaded as the contest moved to the eighth.
- Warner was looking to add a run in the eighth but Vazquez was thrown out at home as he attempted to tag up on a line drive to right.
- The Seahawks had their backs against the wall in the ninth with two-outs when De La Cruz connected on an RBI double to the right-center gap, tying the game at 7-7.
- After neither team scored in the tenth, Warner led off the eleventh with a home run to left-center as the Seahawks trailed 8-7. The Royals tacked on an insurance run with a one-out single to right as Keiser fell in the midweek game, 9-7.
