- Keiser clinched the sixth-spot in the Sun Conference tournament and will take on Coastal Georgia in the quarterfinal round on Tuesday in Georgia.
- Three Seahawks finished in double figures led by Antigonie Sanabria's 16. Midori Long had a massive double-double with 15 points and a game-best 16 rebounds, while Dyson boasted 14 points.
- Yaire Rodriguez dished out a game-best five assists and Alasjia Dykes had three steals on the defensive end.
Turning Point
The opening six minutes of the third quarter saw the Seahawks hold Webber scoreless while tallying six points to get within a possession, 39-37. The Seahawks outscored the Warriors 16-5 during the entire period to lead by two at the start of the fourth quarter.
How it Happened
- The game remained a one-possession battle despite two lead changes and a pair of ties before Webber ran off seven straight points to lead 15-9 with 2:49 to go in the opening quarter.
- The Seahawks closed to within a possession on a pair of occasions but trailed 21-17 at the end of the first period.
- Keiser scored six of the opening eleven points in the second frame to climb within three, 26-23, with 6:06 to go until halftime.
- Webber outscored the Seahawks 13-7 down the stretch to lead 39-30 at the halftime break. Sanabria led the way in the opening half with nine points.
- The Seahawks scored the first seven points of the third, while holding Webber scoreless until Montrese Weller hit a three with 3:54 showing as the Warriors remained in front, 42-37.
- Keiser ended the quarter on a 9-2 run capped by a Kelly Meade three-pointer to put the Seahawks on top, 46-44, with ten minutes left in regulation.
- KU upped the margin to the largest of the game, 58-50, after Meade drilled a corner three with 6:37 left but the Warriors answered with an 8-0 run to tie the game with 3:23 to play.
- The Seahawks remained in front despite Webber having three chances to retake the lead before Dyson split a pair at the line to make it 63-61 with 24.1 seconds to go.
- Following a Webber timeout, Franklin was fouled on a drive to the basket, sending her to the free throw line for two shots. Franklin calmly stepped up and made both, retying the game at 63-63 with 19.8 seconds left.
- After a Keiser timeout, Sanabria missed a three-pointer from the corner but Rodrigeuz came down with the rebound. Rodriguez then found Long down low in the paint on a post-up and the senior connected on a jump hook,putting KU back ahead, 65-53, with 4.2 seconds left.
- The Warriors then turned it over on their next possession and were forced to foul to draw the game out. Rodriguez then collected the inbound pass and was immediately fouled. The freshman split the pair but there was not enough time for WIU to get up another shot as Keiser won in a thriller, 66-63.
