Keiser Highlights
  • It was Senior Day in the Student Life Center, as both Andrija Matic and Matt Mckewin were honored prior to the game for their careers as Seahawks.
  • Matic led Keiser in the ball game with a big double-double, amassing game-highs in both points and rebounds with 22 and 13, respectively.
  • Marko Orlic had a well-rounded game and contributed 17 points with eight rebounds.
  • Jermar Perkins had 12 points and was credited with four steals, while fellow backcourt mate Marko Radulovic played the entirety of the game and was the fourth and final Seahawk in double-figure scoring, finishing with ten points and six rebounds.
  • Mckewin performed well on Senior Night, accounting for the game's first basket and the contest's final two points as well on his way to seven points.

Turning Point
The Seahawks were trailing by two points, 58-56, in a tightly contested battle with just 7:27 still to play before rattling off ten unanswered points to go in front 66-58 following a bucket and the foul from Matic, who recorded five points in the critical run.

How it Happened
  • The first basket was scored in the blink of an eye, and fittingly from Mckewin after Keiser won the tip and pushed the ball up the court nicely for the guard's finish at the rim.
  • Keiser built a lead out to as large as seven points at 14-7 after an Orlic three-pointer, and the score remained that way until the first media timeout with 14:58 on the clock.
  • Webber however scored the first five points out of the timeout to draw within a possession, and eventually took their first lead of the game at 18-17 at the 9:58 mark.
  • Keiser countered with an 8-1 run to go back out in front at 25-19 with 6:16 to play until halftime, scoring all four baskets inside the paint.
  • Moments later, Webber once again made a push and drew to within a single point at 29-28 Keiser following a three-pointer. The two sides proceeded to then trade effective offensive trips, and halftime came with Keiser clinging to a 33-32 lead.
  • The Warriors produced ten of the second half's first 15 points and seized a 42-38 advantage after yet another triple with 15:32 remaining.
  • The Seahawks were able to bring it back to within one point on two separate occasions in the next few minutes of play, but four unanswered points gave the Warriors their largest lead of the game, 50-45 with 11:13 on the clock.
  • The Warriors held the slim advantage all the way until a three pointer from Radulovic drew the Seahawks even at 56-56 with 7:42 to play.
  • After a Warrior bucket, Keiser proceeded to account for the game's next ten points in a stretch of play that proved crucial to the outcome. The Seahawks led 66-58 with 4:47 showing on the clock after a Matic basket and the foul after the run.
  • Webber whittled it down to a single possession at 68-65 Keiser, but after a few empty possessions, Orlic made a key play with a steal and thunderous windmill dunk to make it 70-65 with 1:54 to play.
  • Keiser's lead grew to as large as 11 points as the Warriors began to extend the final minutes of play, as Perkins' fast break layup after a steal made it 78-67 with 38 seconds remaining.
  • The Warriors put up a valiant effort in the final seconds with perimeter shooting to draw all the way to within four points at 80-76 Keiser with 15 seconds left, but Orlic and Mckewin each hit two free-throws down the stretch to account for Keiser's 84-76 result.

Inside the Box Score
  • The Seahawks held a 41-33 advantage on the glass, and were able to out produce Webber International 14-4 in the category of second chance points.
  • Keiser did most of their damage from the interior, doubling Webber International's points in the paint, 48-24.
  • The bench for the hosts played a significant role, and were able to outscore the Warriors' bench 22-11.

Game Notes
  • The win gave Keiser the season sweep of Webber International, and improved the Seahawks' advantage in the all-time series between the two teams to 23-4.
  • The regular season concluded for Keiser with the victory, and the Seahawks head into the Sun Conference Tournament having won ten of 13 games so far in 2019.

Coach's Corner
"In the second half we came out flat with little energy," said Head Coach Bob Starkman. "We then went with the game plan to pound the ball inside with Matic and Orlic, who came up big and physical after a timeout to go on a run. Bryce Thurston did a great job to start a rally by getting the ball inside to Matic with a nice entry pass, and I was also very happy for Matt (Mckewin) who did a great job and recorded the game's opening and final points. We are still awaiting word on who and where we play in the Sun Conference Tournament."
