The No. 1 Keiser women's soccer team upended No. 4 Southeastern, 2-1 in the semifinal round of the 2019 NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship. With the victory, the Seahawks advance to their second straight National Championship game tomorrow at 7:00 p.m.
How it Happened
- Caroline Jensen nearly gave Keiser a 1-0 lead in the fifth minute but her shot from 35-yards out went off the crossbar and cleared out of play.
- The Seahawks broke through in the 13th minute as Larissa Weber scored off a through from Matilda Ovenberger after her initial shot was blocked and bounced back to her.
- Southeastern tied the match in the 21st minute as Yulie Lopez was on the back post after Nina Haeberlin made the initial save on Uchena Kanu's shot.
- Keiser jumped back on top in the 42nd minute as Ebba Gustafsson's scored off a mad scramble in the box on a cross from Maja Henriksson.
- The Fire had the first great chance of the second half but Ismar Duran's shot sailed just high above the net in the 60th minute.
- In the 70th minute, Ovenberger's header from the middle of the box off a cross from Filippa Millqvist was barely saved.
- Kanu had a great scoring chance on a corner in the 74th minute her effort went just above the crossbar.
- Haeberlin came up with a game-saving and highlight reel save from the ground in the 79th minute as she managed to keep the ball out of the net as Keiser won the semifinal game, 2-1.

- Keiser continues their best season in program history with their 23rd victory.
- The Seahawks will enter the national championship game on a 21 game winning streak.
- This was the fourth appearance in the semifinals and second straight year that KU has advanced to the final game.
