The No. 1 Keiser women's soccer team shutout No. 13 Marian, 2-0 in the NAIA National Championship game. The national championship is the first-ever in program history for the Seahawks,

 How it Happened
  • The Seahawks had the games first scoring chance in the second minute as Larisa Weber nearly chipped the keeper from the left side of the box but the ball was punched over the bar for a corner.
  • Tova Nilsson put Keiser on the board in the 15th minute with a chip shot from 30 yards out that sailed into the upper left corner.
  • Four minutes later, Matilda Ovenberger scored off a great through ball from Caroline Jensen, making it 2-0.
  • The Seahawks went on to lead to the national championship game, 2-0 at the halftime break.
  • Keiser outshot Marian 10-2 in the second half while Nina Haeberlin broke the program record for career shutouts with her 25th as the Seahawks claimed the national championship, 2-0.

Game Notes
  • Keiser concludes the 2019 season with a program-best 24 victories and their first-ever national championship.
  • Keiser becomes the first team in the Sun Conference to win an NAIA National Championship in women's soccer.
  • The Seahawks finish the year as the Sun Conference Regular Season and Tournament Champions while going unbeaten in conference play.
  • The Seahawks lone loss this season came in overtime against then No. 1 and former national champion, William Carey. KU then won 22 straight games.
  • This was the second straight appearance in the national championship game for the Seahawks.
  • Today's meeting was the second time in history with the series even at 1-1.
  • KU went 8-1-0 against teams ranked in the NAIA Top 25 poll this season.
  • Nina Haeberlin broke the program record for career shutouts with her 25th and 14th of the year.
  • Ovenberger led the way with a game-high five shots with four of those on target.
