Keiser men's basketball earned their second win of the season, grabbing control with a strong first half before sealing the deal in the second half to remain unbeaten in the all-time series with the Buccaneers. It was the first of three scheduled games between the two teams in 2019-2020.

How it Happened
First Half: Keiser 55, UVI 37
  • Chance Anderson scored the game's first two points, 15 seconds into the game with a jump hook in the lane after a nice entry pass from Marko Orlic.
  • The teams went back and forth until the score worked its way to 4-4, then the Seahawks went on a 8-0 run to go in front 12-4. Malcolm Mabry and Mark Gordon contributed four points apiece during the run.
  • Keiser's lead reached double-digits for the fist time, 18-8, with 13:03 to play in the first half after two free-throws from Jermar Perkins.
  • The Buccaneers cut the deficit to five with a 5-0 run, but a 12-3 Seahawks' spurt, capped off by a three-pointer from Jimmy Sylvain, made it 30-16 with 9:47 on the clock.
  • UVI drew back to within single digits, 34-25, but Keiser scored 15 of the next 18 points to establish their largest lead of the half, 49-28, following a deep trifecta from Perkins with 4 minutes to play in the half.
  • A 7-2 run from the hosts stemmed the Keiser momentum for a moment, but KU went into the halftime break, leading comfortably, 55-37, following Anderson's buzzer-beating layup off the dish from Mabry.

Second Half: Keiser 96, UVI 67
  • UVI outscored Keiser 14-6 over the opening 8:13 of the second half as they trailed the Seahawks, 61-51.
  • Gordon, however, canned a jumper to begin a dominant 19-4 Keiser run, expanding the lead to 80-55 with 6:29 remaining. During the run, Gordon scored 14 points while he and and Anderson had back-to-back explosive jams.
  • The Buccaneers were unable to get any closer then 22 points as the Seahawks lead eventually swelled to as large as 30 points, 96-66, following a Sylvain jumper with just 1:18 on the clock.
  • UVI split a pair of free-throws in the final minute, but KU went on to earn their second win of the season in dominant fashion, 96-67.
