Keiser men's basketball continued to display a potent, up-tempo offensive attack in the Seahawks' matchup on the road at Johnson & Wales, easing past the Wildcats in a game in which they never trailed.

The Seahawks are now winners of four straight games, and have begun Sun Conference play with back-to-back road victories over Webber International and Johnson & Wales.

How it Happened
First Half: Keiser 54, Johnson & Wales 38
  • Keiser scored the game's first six points, capped off by a thunderous Chance Anderson dunk in transition just over two minutes into the contest.
  • The Wildcats countered with a three-pointer to get on the scoreboard for the first time, but the Seahawks proceeded to go in front 12-3 with another 6-0 run, concluding with a Mark Gordon steal and layup on the other end with 15:44 on the clock.
  • Keiser's lead reached double-digits for the first time after a Gordon jumper made it 17-6 with 14:16 left in the half. The senior forward started fast, putting up nine points in the opening six minutes of play.
  • A Jermar Perkins three-pointer gave KU a 20-8 advantage, the largest lead of the game so far, with 12:37 on the clock.
  • The Wildcats began to find a bit of an offensive rhythm, and were able to go on a 12-5 run to draw to within five points, 25-20, just past the halfway point of the opening half.
  • Keiser rattled off the next eight points, however, to lead 33-20 with 7:39 remaining. Five more points came from Gordon during the run, and Malcolm Mabry canned a long ball.
  • With Keiser leading 42-35 with just 3:45 on the clock, back-to-back three-pointers from Perkins and Jimmy Sylvain kept the Wildcats from drawing any closer.
  • The Seahawks led 48-36 with just over two minutes left in the half, and a 6-0 spurt for Keiser grew the lead to 18 points, 54-36, as the clock dwindled down under a minute.
  • Two Wildcat free-throws represented the half's final points, as the Seahawks went into the break leading comfortably, 54-38.
Second Half: Keiser 97, Johnson & Wales 70
  • Gordon had the Seahawks' first seven points of the second half, and his fast break dunk in the paint brought the score to 61-44 with 16:18 left in the game.
  • The next five baskets in the game came from behind the three-point arc, with Keiser connecting on three, two from Orlic and one from CJ Fisher, to lead 70-50 with 12:22 on the clock.
  • Keiser outscored the Wildcats 11-4 over the course of the next five minutes of play to go in front 81-54, a stretch of play highlighted by two more trifectas off the hot-hand of Gordon.
  • The Seahawks continued to put the pedal to the metal, and never let the Wildcats get to within 20 points for the remainder of the game.
  • The Keiser lead grew to as large as 28 points, 93-65, following an Orlic three-pointer with 1:40 to play, and the outcome was never in doubt for the final moments as the Seahawks claimed the 97-70 victory.
