The No. 1 team in the NAIA and top overall seed in the Sun Conference tournament, Keiser women's soccer team upended the fourth-seeded Bobcats of St. Thomas, 6-1, on Tuesday afternoon in the TSC semifinals. Keiser will now look to claim their seventh TSC conference championship on Friday in West Palm Beach at 1:30 p.m.
How it Happened
- The Seahawks scored the opening goal in the tenth minute as Maja Lundman finished off a cross from Benedikte Schroeder.
- In the 31st minute, Caroline Jensen made it 2-0 after just entering the match, scoring off a cross from Larissa Weber.
- Keiser extended their lead to 3-0 in the 67th minute when Emma Holmskov made her penalty kick.
- Two minutes later, Weber found the back of the net off assists from Maja Henriksson and Lundman.
- Maxi Krug scored the fifth goal of the game in 75th minute on a perfect free kick from the top of the box.
- The Seahawks tacked on a sixth goal in the 87th minute as Alicia Drott found the back of the net off a pass from Weber.
- St. Thomas ruined the shutout in the 89th minute but fell to Keiser, 6-1, as the Seahawks advanced to the championship match.
