Gabriel/Yeardley Claim Doubles Title at Juan Varon Invitational

Box Score The Keiser University women's tennis team wrapped up the three day Juan Varon Invitational hosted by Bethune-Cookman University. The Seahawks were the lone NAIA team in the field which consisted of NCAA Division 1, 2, and JUCO squads from across Florida.
 
The highlight of the tournament was Anais Gabriel and Alexandra Yeardly winning the Flight B championship match over Embry Riddle's Ehrenfort and Mautner, 7-5. The duo twice rallied from deficits of 4-1 and 5-3.

In singles play, Lisa Khamassi, Melanie Dveksler Celin, and Gabriel finished as runner-ups in their respective flight championship matches. Joyce Nows won the Flight B consolation championship match.
 
Head Coach Daniel Finn said, "This was a strong showing by our ladies during in a very tough tournament. Today we dealt with some injuries and sickness but the ladies continued to compete hard and it showed in their results. We still have a lot of things that we need get better at but this team continues to push forward. Now we get a well-deserved week off before playing in our final fall tournament at a tough Barry Invitational."
