How it Happened
- The Seahawks showed no rust from their 16 day layoff as they scored the opening seven points of the game before JWU buried a jumper with 5:31 on the clock.
- Both teams tallied eight points apiece during the remaining five minutes of the quarter as KU remained on top, 15-10. Dyson paced the Seahawks with six points on 2-of-3 shooting.
- A Rodriguez layup followed by a Meade three-pointer gave Keiser their largest of the game, 20-10 with 8:17 to go in the second quarter.
- However, the Wildcats roared back with a 14-3 run to claim their first lead of the afternoon, 24-23 with 3:43 remaining in the frame.
- Following a pair lead changes and the game tied at 27-27, Johnson & Wales ended the half on a 7-3 spurt to lead 34-30.
- Johnson & Wales tallied seven straight points to open the third before Dyson halted the run with a jumper as the Seahawks trailed 41-30 at the 7:54 mark.
- Keiser cut their deficit down to seven with 6:36 to go but the Wildcats took a 58-44 advantage into the final quarter.
- The Seahawks opened the fourth with six straight points to get within eight but JWU wouldn't allow Keiser any closer as Johnson & Wales came out victorious, 82-63.
