The Seahawks volleyball team had their five-match win streak snapped Saturday afternoon at the hands of the College of Coastal Georgia in the Sun Conference Game of the Week, 3-0. Stephanie Sanchez picked up 10 assists on the day, while Seward, Sanchez, and Morgan Leff added five digs apiece.

Set One
The Seahawks took advantage of Coastal Georgia mistakes and jumped out to a 6-3 lead to open the set. However, the Mariners responded by taking six of the next seven points to claim their first lead of the afternoon, 9-7. After KU evened the match at 10-10, both squads exchanged points back-and-forth when a 6-0 CCG run then gave the Mariners an 18-13 advantage. Following a CCG serving error that halted the run, Coastal Georgia tallied six of the next seven points to push their lead to eight, 23-15, before eventually taking the set 25-18

Set Two
Coastal Georgia set the tempo out of the gates, charging out to a 10-4 lead before taking advantage of a 7-2 run to widen their margin to 17-6. The Seahawks were able to slow the run with a 3-1 spurt to close within 18-9, but the Mariners controlled the pace down the stretch to take the second set, 25-10.

Set Three
Keiser took an early 5-2 lead to begin the set before the Mariners chipped away, eventually drawing even at 9-9. The Seahawks pushed back with a 5-1 run to lead 14-10 before Coastal Georgia matched the run to tie the set once again, at 15-15. After both teams exchanged a pair of points, CCG used a 3-0 spurt to take a 20-17 advantage. KU then rattled off two quick points to close within 20-19, but the Mariners then claimed five of the final six points to take the set, 25-20, completing the 3-0 sweep.
