No. 9 Women's Soccer Ties Shutout Streak in 5-0 Victory Over SCAD

The ninth-ranked Keiser women's soccer team collected their tenth victory of the season after defeating SCAD 5-0 on Saturday afternoon. The shutout was the fifth consecutive for the Seahawks, tying the program record for the most in a row.

The Seahawks continued their trend of dominating the offensive end as they fired off 27 shots in comparison to SCAD's six.

How it Happened
  • Matilda Ovenberger gave the Seahawks a 1-0 advantage in the 18th minute as she found the back of the net off an assist by Josefine Troneby.
  • The goal from the freshman was the only tally of the opening half for either team as KU held a 9-3 edge in shots.
  • Ovenberger made it 2-0 in the 50th minute as she scored off a great cross from Filippa Millqvist.
  • Six minutes later, Maxi Krug scored on a free kick from just outside of the box to make it 3-0 in favor of the Seahawks.
  • In the 69th minute, Ovenberger completed her second straight hat-trick and fourth of the season as she headed the ball in off an assist from Troneby.
  • Ebba Gustafsson capped the scoring in the 80th minute as she tapped the ball home off a great feed from Tova Nilsson, winning 5-0.
 
Game Notes
  • Keiser moves to 16-2-1 all-time against the Bees of SCAD-Savannah.
  • The Seahawks have recorded five straight shutouts, tying the longest streak in program history, done on three occasions; 2009, 2010, and 2016.
  • Reigning back-to-back TSC Defensive Player of the Week, Nina Haeberlin made four saves on the afternoon.
  • Krug boasted a game-best six shots with three of them going on target.
