Keiser Highlights
  • Third-seeded and No. 15 Keiser fell to No. 2 and top-seeded Georgia Gwinnett in the Lawrenceville region 9-2 on Tuesday afternoon, falling into the loser's bracket.
  • The Seahawks will have to defeat the winner of Point and Lyon to get into the championship game against Georgia Gwinnett. The Seahawks would then have to defeat the Grizzlies twice to claim their second straight regional title.
  • Keiser had six hits on the afternoon with Karsten Sherman having two of those.
  • Ryan Gronlier and CJ Fitzpatrick delivered the two runs batted in on the afternoon.

Turning Point
The Seahawks were clinging to a 2-1 advantage in the third before Georgia Gwinnett pushed across three runs on a pair of singles to claim a 4-2 lead.

How it Happened
  • The first three Grizzlies reached base in the first before Victor Hughes got Garland to line into a double play at first. A passed ball allowed the only run to come across to give GGC the 1-0 advantage.
  • The Seahawks matched the tally in the next inning as Sherman led off with a double to right field. Peter Crocitto moved him to third with a fly out to right and an RBI groundout to second by Gronlier equalized the game at 1-1.
  • Keiser jumped ahead in the third for the first time in the afternoon. Jonathan Fernandez roped a leadoff single to left and capitalized on an error to reach second. Marco Rivera followed with a single of his own to put runners on the corners and a Fitzpatrick sacrifice fly to left made it 2-1.
  • Georgia Gwinnett stormed back in the bottom half with three runs on a pair of singles to jump back in front, 4-2.
  • In the fifth, the Grizzlies pushed the margin to 6-2 behind a two-run home run to left by Alex Garland.
  • Keiser was held off the bases until the seventh when they loaded the bags with two-away but Rivera popped up to first to end the inning.
  • GGC tacked on four more runs in the eighth while holding KU scoreless in the ninth to drop the Seahawks, 10-2.

Up Next
