Game One
Keiser Highlights
  • Alec Lamrouex threw the first complete game of the season as the senior struck out ten batters en route to his sixth win of the campaign.
  • For the second straight game, KU recorded just two hits, coming from Anfernee Torruella and Carlos Lopez.

Turning Point
The Seahawks capitalized on a pair of Florida Memorial errors in the seventh inning, scoring three unearned runs.

How It Happened
  • The opening game of the doubleheader featured a pitching duel as both pitchers went the distance, while not allowing an earned run.
  • Keiser plated the only runs of the contest in the seventh as Marco Rivera reached on an error followed by a walk to Lopez. Peter Crocitto then pulled back on a bunt and grounded the ball to second, Delgado's throw to second was high, allowing Rivera to score the first run of the game.
  • Carlos Pena followed with a sacrifice bunt to move up the runners to second and third, and Ryan Gronlier popped up to the shortstop, who dropped the ball, allowing two more runs to cross the plate, making it 3-0.

Game Two
Keiser Highlights
  • Torruella and Casanueva recorded four of the nine hits by the Seahawks in the second game of the doubleheader.

Turning Point
A nine-run sixth inning proved costly for Keiser as the Seahawks fell in a shortened game, 15-4, and dropping the series to the Lions, 2-1.

How It Happened
  • The Seahawks had just one hit until the fourth when Lopez led off with a home run to left for a 1-0 lead.
  • Florida Memorial answered back with five runs in the bottom half to claim a 5-2 edge. The Seahawks got a run back in the sixth as Casanueva connected on a two-out triple to left center and scored on a Shane Olive RBI single up the middle.
  • However, the Lions pushed across nine runs in the bottom half to take a commanding 15-2 advantage.
  • In the seventh, Karsten Sherman, Crocitto, and Casanueva delivered two-out singles, before Olive drew an RBI walk. A throwing error on the second basemen allowed another Seahawk to cross the plate but Torruella grounded out to the pitcher, ending the game, 15-4, in seven innings.

Up Next
Keiser will look to rebound on Wednesday at home in a non-conference game against Ave Maria. The first pitch is slated for 2:00 p.m.
