TURNING POINT
The Seahawks tallied the first three goals of the second quarter to turn a one-goal lead into a 6-2 advantage with 4:40 to play in the half.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After trading goals to open the game, Wallace and Flint found the back of the net to take a 3-1 advantage with 5:06 left.
- However, Missouri Valley netted the final goal of the quarter with 1:13 showing to get within one heading into the second.
- The Seahawks tallied the first three goals of the second frame before the Vikings again notched a goal under two minutes to trail 6-3 at the half.
- The team exchanged man-up goals before Marentette converted a man-down goal off a feed from Grieco to hold an 8-4 margin with 8:51 showing.
- MVU netted the next two goals to climb within two but Hunter East and Marentette found the back of the net to take a 10-6 lead into the final frame.
- The Vikings opened the scoring before Wallace netted back-to-back goals to make it 12-7 with 10:55 to play.
- Missouri Valley attempted a late rally by scoring three consecutive goals to pull within two at the 5:37 mark but East put the game to rest with the final tally at the 4:40 mark.
