KU HIGHLIGHTS
- The Seahawks honored their five seniors prior to the start of the game; Justin Steiner, Jamar Minto, Steve Bressi, Matt Vollrath, and Justin Flint.
- Nolan Duncan led the scoring the charge with a hat-trick, while Craig Marentette, Cruz Waerness, and Blain Wallace all scored two goals.
- Christian Esquilin dominated the faceoff circle, finishing 16-of-17, and winning the first 13 of the contest. He also had a season-best ten ground balls.
- Jake Ferguson and Zachary Sjogreen finished with two caused turnovers apiece.
- Anthony Bressi made his second straight start in goal, racking up ten saves.
TURNING POINT
The offensive onslaught in the opening quarter proved to the difference as Keiser found the back of the net five times to take a commanding 5-0 lead. The Seahawks never let off the gas during the remainder of the game, cruising to their second straight win over an NAIA Top Ten team.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Keiser posted a shutout in the first quarter, jumping out a 5-0 advantage behind a pair of goals from Marentette.
- The teams traded goals in the second frame before the Lawrence Tech notched a man-up goal with 5:27 remaining to trail 6-2 at the half.
- The Blue Devils scored their lone goal of the second half just 57 seconds into the third when KU rattled off three unanswered goals to take a 9-3 advantage into the fourth.
- Duncan tallied the lone goal of the fourth with 3:42 remaining off a pass from Justin Flint, for a 10-3 Seahawks victory.Â
