Turning Point
With the game tied in the bottom ninth, a costly fielding error on the Seahawks shortstop allowed the game-winning run to score from second.
How it Happened
- The Seahawks were held hitless through 4.1 innings until Gronlier singled through the left side on the first pitch he saw. In that stretch, starter, Perez held Eckerd to just four singles.
- In the sixth, Keiser's first three batters reached without a hit before Drew Martin retired Karsten Sherman on a strikeout. Carlos Lopez then plated the only run of the inning with a deep sacrifice fly to center, making it 1-0.
- Eckerd then tied the game in the eighth with a one-out RBI single to the left-center gap by Mitch Calandra. Calandra nearly gave the Tritons the lead when he stole second and Gronlier overthrew the base, allowing him to advance to third and have a go at scoring, but Marco Rivera threw him out at home from center field.
- Garrett Hiott began the ninth with a hit by pitch before moving to second on a sacrifice bunt. Keiser's shortstop then booted the ball on a grounder, allowing Hiott to score from second, winning the game for Eckerd, 2-1.
