Game 1
Keiser Highlights
  • Marco Rivera led Keiser with a perfect 4-4 day at the plate while driving in three runs, but his biggest at-bat of the game was his walk-off two-run home run.
  • Miguel Casanueva also went yard, blasting a solo homer while going 3-4 at the dish.
  • Shane Olive and CJ Fitzpatrick also finished with a multi-hit performance as well.
  • David Recio was stellar in relief, as the sophomore pitched 4.1 innings, allowing just one run while striking out five.

Turning Point
The Seahawks trailed 6-5 heading into the seventh when Rivera blasted a two-run walk-off homer to lift the Seahawks past Florida National 7-6.

How it Happened
  • Florida National jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the second inning before the Seahawks got a run back in the bottom half on an Olive RBI double to left.
  • Olive drove in his second run of the game two innings later on a one-out single to center, cutting the deficit to 5-2.
  • Keiser got to within 5-3 when Casanueva led off the fifth with a solo homer to left.
  • The Seahawks then tied the game in the sixth on a two-out RBI double to left by Casanueva, but FNU went back in front in the seventh on a fielder's choice to lead 6-5.
  • Following a leadoff single up the middle by Peter Crocitto, Rivera blasted the walk-off home run to left, winning the ballgame, 7-6.

Game 2
Keiser Highlights
  • Victor Hughes was outstanding in his Seahawks debut, allowing just one run in 4.1 innings of work while striking out seven and walking just one batter.
  • Chris Graffeo notched his first collegiate save, throwing a perfect seventh inning with one strikeout.
  • The Seahawks tallied four hits in the game, with Rivera have the lone extra-base hit.
  • Justin Lara and Casanueva plated the only Keiser runs, as they both came in on Rivera's double.

Turning Point
Rivera created magic for the second time today as the junior pushed KU ahead 2-1 with a one-out two-run double to center.

How it Happened
  • After loading the bases with two outs in the second, Hughes got himself out of the jam with a foul out to the first basemen, keeping the game scoreless.
  • The Seahawks finally got their first runner on base in the third on a Fernandez two-out infield single to the third basemen.
  • Neither team could muster a run as the teams combined for just five hits until FNU got on the board in the fifth with a two-out RBI single to right.
  • The Conquistadors threatened to extend their lead an inning later on an infield single, but a perfect throw from first baseman Karsten Sherman gunned Jaymark Garcia out at the plate as he attempted to score from second.
  • Keiser then made their rally in the sixth as Lara drew a one-out walk before advancing to second on a Casanueva single to left.
  • The red-hot hitting Rivera then unleashed on a 1-1 pitch over the center fielder's head to plate both runners, pushing KU in front, 2-1.
  • Graffeo was then called in from the pen, and threw a perfect seventh inning, lifting the Seahawks to the doubleheader sweep and extending their winning streak to five games.
