How it Happened
- St. Thomas scored the first four points of the game before back-to-back baskets by Long knotted the game at the 7:46 mark.
- However, the Bobcats answered right back with seven unanswered points to regain an 11-4 lead with 4:39 to go in the opening frame.
- After trading baskets, a Saunders layup and a Kelly Meade three-pointer brought KU to within two with 2:29 showing, but STU held on to a 17-13 advantage going into the second quarter.
- Meade connected on her second three-pointer of the game to get within one, but the Bobcats rattled off the next five points to stretch the margin to 22-16 at the 6:37 mark.
- The Seahawks closed the gap to three before St. Thomas closed the half on 13-2 run to lead 35-21 at the break.
- Keiser used a 7-0 run out of the locker-room, capped off by a Donivan Dyson jumper to get within 35-28 with 6:05 remaining.
- St. Thomas then regrouped and tallied the next six points to take their largest lead of the game, 41-28 at the 3:38 mark.
