Game One
Keiser Highlights
  • All nine Keiser hitters recorded a hit in the opening game with Miguel Casanueva and Carlos Lopez racking up a game-best four hits.
  • The Seahawks finished with 22 hits which is the second-most in program history, with the most coming in 2010 against SUNY-Cantan with 24.
  • Taylor Blatch won his third straight start, going six innings with seven strikeouts and allowing six hits.

Turning Point
The difference maker in game one of today's doubleheader proved to be the composure of starting pitcher, Blatch. The transfer senior from Florida State surrendered just a solo shot to open the game before settling down and only allowing five hits in the process of shutting down the Night Hawks.

How it Happened
  • The first pitch of the game by Blatch was taken over the left-center fence for a 1-0 advantage.
  • Keiser claimed their first lead in the second on a two-out, two run bloop single to right by Jonathan Fernandez. Justin Lara then raised the margin to 3-1 on an infield single to third.
  • After the first two Keiser runners reached in the third, Lopez found the right-center gap with a two-run double to make it a four-run game. After Thomas recorded their first out, CJ Fitzpatrick drove in a run with a single to left, making it 6-1.
  • A huge two-out fielding error by the first basemen raised the advantage to 8-1 and Peter Crocitto capped the six-run inning with a single to right.
  • Fitzpatrick then pushed the advantage to 10-1 in the fourth on a sacrifice fly to center, before Thomas threatened in the fifth with the bases loaded and one-out but Blatch came up with a fly-out and a huge strikeout to escape the jam.
  • The Seahawks made it a ten-run game in the fifth on a single through the right side by Marco Rivera, and blew the game open with eight runs in the sixth, highlighted by a three-run bomb from Crocitto and a two-run shot by Lopez, winning 19-1.

Game Two
Keiser Highlights
  • The Seahawks had their seven-game winning streak snapped after dropping the second game of the doubleheader. The loss was also the first in Sun Conference play this season.
  • Fitzpatrick, Crocitto, and Faneyte finished with multi-hit performances at the dish, while Crocitto and Fitzpatrick had two runs batted in.
  • Alec Lamrouex suffered his first loss of the season after tossing four innings and only striking out three Thomas hitters.

Turning Point
Thomas held a one-run lead in the third when they blasted a pair of three-run home runs over the next two innings to push their lead to 8-1.

How it Happened
  • For the second straight game, the Night Hawks jumped out to a 1-0 lead, this time on an RBI groundout to first.
  • Keiser knotted the game in the second on a Fitzpatrick RBI double down the left field line, plating Faneyete, who reached on a double to center.
  • However, Thomas swung the lead back in their favor in the third with a two-out single and three-run home run, making it 5-1.
  • The Night Hawks connected on another three-run homer in the fourth to stretch the margin to 8-1 before KU pushed three runs across in the bottom half on RBI singles from Fitzpatrick, Fernandez, and Crocitto.
  • TU got four runs back in the sixth to lead 12-4 when Crocitto plated a run with a one-out base's loaded single to left.
  • The Night Hawks went on to score three runs in the seventh and came away with the 15-5, seven-inning win.

Up Next
The series will be decided tomorrow at noon after the teams split the doubleheader this afternoon.
