The No. 6 nationally ranked Keiser women's soccer team defeated the top-ranked team in the NAIA, Southeastern in penalty kicks 4-3 to claim the 2018 Sun Conference Tournament Championship. The game was scoreless through regulation and two overtime periods before Keiser prevailed in penalty kicks for the second time in three years.

The Seahawks won the Sun Conference Championship in penalty kicks 4-3 to claim their fifth title in program history. Two of the last three championship games between these two teams have gone to PK's.
How it Happened
- Uchenna Kanu, the nation's leading goal scorer and TSC Player of the Year, nearly scored the first goal of the game in the 31st minute but her header went off the crossbar and was cleared by the Seahawks defense.
- Keiser was outshot in the opening half 10-5 but held a 4-3 edge in shots on goal as the game entered the halftime break, scoreless.
- Emma Holmskov nearly ended the deadlocked contest in the 65th minute as her attempt from distance glanced off the crossbar.
- The Fire saw a goal scoring opportunity go high as Yulie Lopez was wide open in the middle of the box off a cross from Kanu during the 80th minute to remain tied at 0-0.
- It was Maxi Krug's turn to hit the crossbar in the 84th minute from the top of the box as the game still had no goal.
- In the 88th minute, Southeastern's goalkeeper was caught on the ground but managed to get up in time to save Ebba Gustafsson's shot from point-blank range.
- Neither team was able to find the back of the net during the final two minutes as the Sun Conference Championship would go to overtime.
- Keiser held a 2-1 advantage in the first overtime period and a 4-2 edge in the second overtime but was unable to score as the game went into penalty kicks.

- The first taker for each team missed their shot wide to remain even.
- Next up for the Seahawks was Freshman of the Year, Ovenberger, who buried her shot to the right corner for a 1-0 lead.
- The next Fire taker had their shot nail the right post but got a good bounce as the ball rolled in to remain tied.
- Kyoka Koshijma and Holmskov both made their shots, while the Fire matched them to remain tied at 3-3.
- The fourth Southeastern attempt hit the left post and bounced out to set up the game-winning kick.
- Madeleine Berghult then stepped up to the spot and calmly scored to lift Keiser to the penalty kick victory.

- With the win, Keiser claimed its fifth Sun Conference Tournament Championship in program history, including their fourth in five seasons.
- This was the third straight season that the Fire and Seahawks have squared off for the title with each team splitting wins.
- For the second time this season, these two teams battled to double overtime contests.
- KU is 9-1-3 all-time against Southeastern University.
- The Seahawks have not lost in regulation during the entire season and postseason.
- Tonight's shutout was the ninth of the year for the Seahawks and their fourth straight.
- Keiser is 4-2-2 on the season against teams ranked inside the NAIA Top 25 poll.
- Haeberlin became the single-season save leader with 68 in her first season as a Seahawk. She finished the shutout with seven saves.
