Highlights
The Seahawks volleyball team won a thriller against St. Thomas on senior night 3-2. Prior to the match,
Morgan Leff and
Faryn Salazar were recognized for their contributions to the program. The match was also the final home game this season.
Abbie Seward (28 kills, 18 digs) and
Jordan Odom (10 kills, 12 digs) finished with double-doubles on the evening. Leff finished with a team-best 23 digs, reaching the 1,500 dig milestone in her career.
Set One
Odom served the Seahawks to the first seven points of the match, forcing STU to take a timeout. The Bobcats got as close as 15-13 before an Odom kill sparked a 6-0 run to lead 21-13. KU went on to take the opening set, 25-21.

Set Two
Keiser carried over their momentum from the first set by taking an early 8-2 advantage. St. Thomas responded right back with six unanswered points to even the score at eight apiece. Following a pair of ties, Seward put down a big kill to begin a 5-1 spurt, regaining a 17-13 lead, and forcing the Bobcats into a timeout. Out of the stoppage, STU ran off five consecutive points to equalize the set at 18-18. The teams then traded four leads while battling through three ties before KU had set point at 24-23. However, a service error would briefly tie the set but back-to-back hitting errors gave Keiser the victory, 27-25 and a 2-0 lead in the match.
Â
Set Three
The Seahawks were in front 9-5 before St. Thomas stormed back with five straight points, jumping ahead 10-9. Keiser trailed by as many as four, 18-14, before retying the set at 21-21 on an
Eshe Malone service ace, leading to an STU timeout. The teams then traded 3-0 runs to remain tied at 24-24. This time, however, St. Thomas claimed the set 26-24 to get within 2-1 in the match.
Â
Set Four
After falling behind 3-0, Keiser notched eight of the next nine points to take an 8-4 lead. Following a Bobcats timeout, the visitors ran off the next four points, tying the score at eight. Five ties ensued before the Seahawks used a 4-1 spurt behind three kills from Seward to lead 17-14. Keiser looked to have put the match away with a 23-20 lead but STU used a timeout to stall the momentum. The Bobcats grabbed the next two points to get within one but a massive kill from Seward gave KU set-point, 24-22. Unfortunately, St. Thomas won the next two points to tie the score once more. Seward again put down a kill for a set point but the Bobcats claimed the final three points, winning, 28-26, and tying the match at 2-2.
Â
Set Five
Keiser claimed the first two points before stretching their lead to 5-1. STU got as close as two before the Seahawks tallied three of the next four points to lead 10-6. KU kept their foot on the pedal and came away with the 15-9 victory and the match 3-2.
